The Center builds networks of knowledge, practice, resources, and discovery that enhance understanding of East Asia locally, regionally, and nationally by supporting interdisciplinary research & teaching; linking academic resources with K-12, business, & professional communities; coordinating conferences & workshops; educating K-12 teachers; & fostering dialogue among scholars, students, practitioners, & policy makers.

69th Midwest Conference on Asian Affairs (MCAA)

Announcing the Virtual MCAA Conference, Oct. 16-18, 2020. Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, we have to move this year’s conference to an online format. We hope you will be able to join us in this new venture, and we are excited about the possibilities that this online venue might bring to increase participation and discussion of papers. Not only would it be an honor to have your support, but it is also a great opportunity to invite colleagues from other universities to share their research. We are now soliciting panels, roundtables, and individual papers in all fields regarding Asia. Faculty, graduate, and undergraduate students, as well as independent scholars, are encouraged to share their work and attend the conference. Learn more about the conference here.
