The EASC is happy to announce that our previously open position of AD (see prior news release) has now been filled! Our new Assistant Director is Laura Judson from the Department of Theatre, Drama, and Contemporary Dance!
Prior to becoming the Assistant Director for the East Asian Studies Center, Laura spent five years as the Project Manager for IU’s Department of Theatre, Drama and Contemporary Dance. Laura’s background includes nearly twenty years in stage and production management in the performing arts industry with an emphasis on collaborative communication and project organization. Laura is currently also pursuing an MPA in Nonprofit Management and MA in Arts Administration at the O’Neill School for Public and Environmental Affairs. Before settling in Bloomington, Laura spent eighteen months as the production stage manager for the Oregon Cabaret Theatre after ten years as a freelance artist primarily managing opera.
Laura contracts occasionally as a freelance copy editor and grant writer, and recently served on one of the Indiana Arts Commission’s grant review panels for the FY24 cycle. Laura’s hobbies include motorcycling, gardening, TTRPGs, and chickens.
