In many ways, the “Semiotics” cluster will serve as a connecter between the other four clusters, as it highlights how everything we do is semiotically constructed. Semiotics, or the ‘study of sign systems’, bridge the divide between language studies, linguistics, and culture studies by addressing the question of how people and societies make sense of their surroundings through verbal and non-verbal communication, sign-posting, and social configurations. This field is essential for decoding complex texts, media, and cultural phenomena, enabling a deeper comprehension of how meaning is generated and shared. Ultimately, semiotics enhances our ability to interpret and navigate the symbolic dimensions of human experience.
