Shoichi Ueda is a Lecturer of Japanese in the department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at Indiana University in Bloomington. Shoichi Ueda received his Master of Arts in Japanese Language Pedagogy from The Ohio State University in 2021. After receiving his M.A., Ueda then coordinated the second and third year Japanese Language program at the Ohio State University during the 2021-2022 Academic year.
Ueda’s research interests are primarily focused on the practical application of culturally authentic language learning approaches. Having received training in multiple pedagogical approaches, he is interested in the development of language courses and pedagogical materials that prepare students to interact in global contexts utilizing Japanese.
