- How do I find out about volunteer activities?
E-mail easc@iu.edu to get on our volunteer list. Whenever we get a new request, we’ll e-mail you about our current activities to determine your availability.
Do I need to be a native of East Asia/have prior knowledge?
Not at all! We welcome volunteers with all kinds of backgrounds in regards to East Asia! Not only are our events a great way to educate the public but also an opportunity for our volunteers to learn more about other countries/history/culture!
What kinds of things could I do?

- Teach common phrases in East Asian languages
- Talk about a traditional art, festival, or custom (e.g., calligraphy, kimono, fans)
- Talk about schools in East Asian countries
- Teach children’s games
- Talk about daily life and culture
- Perform music
- Prepare and share food

- Give feedback to EASC staff on how to improve the program
- Attend the volunteer events you have signed up for, or give us advance warning if no longer able to come
